At LKN Weight Loss & Wellness, our Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy uses all-natural hormones that are identical to the hormones made by your body to ease the degenerative side effects of aging and other medical issues. The goal of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy is to balance your body’s hormones, bringing them to the optimal levels your system was initially designed to maintain.
LKN Weight Loss & Wellness provides experienced hormone therapies for both men and women to give you the solutions you need to live a more balanced life.
A low level of testosterone in a man means more than just a low sex drive. Hormones are important for regulating most major bodily processes. Symptoms consistent with low testosterone and other cases of hormonal imbalance include:
Hormonal imbalances occur when there is too much or too little of a hormone in the bloodstream. Because of their essential role in the body, even the smallest hormonal imbalance can cause side effects throughout the body. There are a variety of symptoms of hormone imbalance in women including:
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) may be able to provide relief from common, debilitating symptoms that doctors often overlook. These symptoms include fatigue, stress and sleep disturbances. These symptoms are often caused by hormonal imbalance. The root cause can be addressed and the patient returned to normal hormone levels. BHRT is a simple treatment that can correct complicated hormonal issues through hormone optimization.
LKN Weight Loss and Wellness offers bioidentical hormone therapy through subcutaneous pellets. Subcutaneous pellets can be used to replace estrogen and testosterone.
The molecular structure of hormones in the body and their function are closely related.
The length of the pellets will vary depending on gender, weight, absorption rates, and the amount of hormones present in the patient at the time of insertion. The pellets are typically inserted 3 to 6 times per year for females, and 2 to 4 times per year (for males).
To determine if hormone replacement therapy is safe, first call our office and arrange for lab work. Once the lab work has been completed, you will be invited in person to discuss your findings and to recommend treatment. If you are a candidate for pellet insertion, the next step is to determine if you qualify. Labs will test the dosage six weeks after the insertion to ensure it is effective. You can request a “boost dose” at no charge if the levels are not ideal. Once levels are optimized, pellets should be inserted every 3 to 6 month. Labs will be checked every year.
In-office visits refer to patients being brought into the examination room. The usual insertion site is located in the upper buttocks. A small incision is made to insert the hormone pellet. A small bandage will be applied to the insertion site. Your body will absorb the pellet as it dissolves. Every patient is unique, so each journey will be tailored to your specific needs. Some patients report improvement in four weeks while others see full optimization over six months.
After the pellet-insertion process is complete, it is best to cease lower-body exercises. Walking is fine, but you should avoid strenuous activities. While you can shower, avoid bath tubs, hot tubs and swimming. After the bandage is removed, you can resume normal swimming and exercise. It takes about 3 days for women and 7 for men.
We all deserve to feel better, regardless of our age. If hormone imbalance is a problem, don’t despair! Contact LKN Weight Loss and Wellness today to schedule your hormone replacement therapy consultation.
